Technology Education Course Description:

 

Technology Education is a problem solving program providing development of hand and machine tool processes in the manufacturing industry.

Emphasis will be given to the implementation of design and the development of devices and processes for practical purposes.

 

• The students will be required to complete an assigned project for evaluation.

• The students will design, build and launch a CO2 car.

• The students will be required to prepare a complete portfolio (design brief) of all work related to the CO2 car project , that will be submitted with the project for evaluation.

 

Course Objectives: 

• Develop a knowledge and skill in using hand and machine tool processes.

• Demonstrate safety conscientiousness appropriate for working in a laboratory.

• Solve design problems through research, creative thinking and making rational decisions.

• Develop skill in preparing working drawings.

• Develop competence in selecting appropriate materials.
